Pittsburgh, PA – Drivers and residents across western Pennsylvania faced sweltering heat Monday as Pittsburgh soared to 91°F, with highs near 90°F reported from New Castle to Zanesville and Cambridge. Temperatures will stay elevated tonight, with lows barely dropping below 70°F, keeping homes and roadways warm well into Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms—some with locally heavy rainfall—are likely to impact areas near the ridges of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, including Uniontown, Morgantown, Terra Alta, and Davis. The chance of rain is highest in Davis, WV (56%), but most of the region will remain dry and unseasonably warm.

In Pittsburgh, Butler, and Wheeling, heat will be the main concern, with overnight lows of 70–73°F offering little relief. For those living in the Laurel Highlands and along the I-68 corridor, keep an eye on rapidly changing conditions and avoid outdoor activities during any storms. Prepare by staying hydrated, limiting time outside, and checking on neighbors vulnerable to heat.

Storm chances will diminish overnight, but heat advisories could continue into Tuesday. Stay tuned for updates as more advisories may be issued.
