Josephine County, OR – A 33-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly leading deputies on a police pursuit that ended when his truck crashed into a ditch near Highway 199, according to the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the pursuit began around 3:29 a.m. on February 3, 2026, near Highway 199 and Lone Mountain Road, after a red GMC Sonoma was stopped for missing and obscured license plates.

The driver, identified as Gavin Moore, allegedly had a felony warrant for Distribution of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine). When informed he was under arrest, Moore reportedly sped off, attempting to elude deputies down Lone Mountain Road.

Officials said Moore’s vehicle slid off a gravel road and into a ditch after backing toward patrol units. He then complied with commands and was taken into custody without further incident.

Moore was booked into the Josephine County Jail on charges of Attempting to Elude (Felony), Reckless Driving, and the existing felony warrant.
