Grants Pass, OR – A man and woman allegedly wanted on felony warrants were taken into custody Friday after a series of alleged attempts to evade law enforcement in Josephine County.

According to the Josephine County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the arrests happened at about 11:38 a.m. Friday after deputies, assisted by Parole and Probation and K-9 Yana, established a perimeter around a location tied to the suspects. Authorities said James Patterson, 39, and Breanna Vineyard, 29, complied with commands and were taken into custody without incident. A third individual, Aaron Geiger, 54, was also located and arrested.

Officials said the arrests stem from multiple alleged incidents earlier in the week. On Thursday, March 12, deputies attempted a traffic stop near the Oโ€™Brien area, but the vehicle allegedly failed to stop and began eluding. Vineyard allegedly fled on foot into nearby woods while Patterson continued driving into a rural area before also fleeing, authorities said. Despite assistance from Oregon State Police Air Patrol and K-9 Yana, Patterson was not located at that time.

On Tuesday, March 17, deputies again attempted a traffic stop involving the same pair. Patterson allegedly fled at high speeds along Highway 199, prompting deputies to terminate the pursuit as it crossed into California and became increasingly dangerous in the Smith River Canyon, according to the sheriffโ€™s office.

All three individuals were lodged at the Josephine County Jail on outstanding warrants and additional charges tied to the alleged incidents. The case remains under investigation.
