Joliet Township, IL – Man Fatally Shot in Targeted Attack, Authorities Say

Joliet Township, IL – A 34-year-old Joliet man was fatally shot early Sunday in what authorities believe was a targeted attack in unincorporated Joliet Township.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 1300 block of Pico Court shortly after midnight. Upon arrival, officers found two residences struck by bullets and located the victim inside a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he later died.

Investigators recovered surveillance footage showing an unidentified vehicle in the area before the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Tom Hannon at 815-727-8574, extension 4965, or submit a tip online at www.willcosheriff.org.

The Will County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
