Joliet Man Charged in Car Dealership Burglary Attempt

Joliet, IL – A Joliet man, Carl Williamson Jr., 38, faces multiple charges following an alleged burglary attempt at Fred’s Auto Sales, a local car dealership. 

According to Joliet Police reports officers responded to a reported vehicle break-in at the dealership located at 509 East Washington Street early Monday morning. Upon arrival, they reportedly found Williamson inside a pickup truck in the dealership’s lot. Williamson reportedly fled but was quickly apprehended by the officers. Officials later report finding tools suspected to be used for burglary in his possession. 

Williamson has since been charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and other related offenses, and is currently detained at the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
