Drivers in Joliet should be prepared for traffic delays as the city begins water main installation at the Six Corners intersection (Plainfield Road/Black Road/Raynor Avenue). This work will take place nightly from April 7 to April 11, 2025, and will impact travel on these main routes.

According to the City of Joliet, work will occur overnight, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each day. During work hours, Plainfield Road (Route 30) will remain open with one lane in each direction, though flaggers may assist with traffic. Black Road/Ruby Street and Raynor Avenue will be closed during the overnight hours, with detours in place. Once daytime hours return, Black Road/Ruby Street and Raynor Avenue will reopen, but Plainfield Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction.

Temporary asphalt patches will be used to cover trench areas for about four weeks until water main testing and service transfers are complete. The city encourages drivers to seek alternate routes to avoid delays during this period.
