Johnstown, CO – Police in Johnstown are asking the public for assistance after bullets struck two homes early Sunday morning in the Thompson River Ranch neighborhood.

According to the Johnstown Police Department, multiple residents near the S.E. Frontage Road and River Ranch Parkway reported hearing several gunshots around 4:39 a.m. on January 7, 2026. Later that morning, a homeowner discovered a hole in the wall of their child’s bedroom. Officers say a bullet was recovered from inside the room.

The following day, another resident found a bullet hole in a second-story bedroom of a nearby home. Police confirmed that no injuries were reported in either incident.

Preliminary findings suggest the rounds were possibly fired from the west, near Interstate 25 or the S.E. Frontage Road. Investigators are now asking residents in the Thompson River Ranch area to check their properties for any damage consistent with gunfire and to review security camera footage recorded between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. on January 7.

Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information or relevant video evidence is urged to contact the Johnstown Police Department Investigations Unit at their email.
