Deputies were called at 10:59 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, to the Panasonic facility near 103rd Street and Astra Parkway after reports of a stabbing. When deputies arrived, they found one victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies located the suspect, and an officer-involved shooting occurred shortly after. Deputies performed life-saving measures on the suspect, who was pronounced deceased by MED-ACT at 11:25 a.m.
The stabbing victim was transported by MED-ACT to a hospital in critical condition. Officials said no deputies or officers were injured during the incident. Johnson County Park Police also responded to assist at the scene.
Because the case involves an officer-involved shooting, the Johnson County Officer Involved Critical Incident Investigations Team has taken over the investigation, with the Olathe Police Department serving as the lead agency.
