Jefferson County, MO – A 24-year-old Cedar Hill man is facing multiple felony charges after an alleged double shooting outside a Dittmer business over the weekend, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Dave Marshak announced Monday that Christopher Masson, 24, has been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred shortly before midnight on Thursday, December 12. Masson is charged with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.

Investigators say the incident began with a verbal altercation inside Holeshots Saloon in Dittmer. Authorities allege that after the confrontation, the involved parties went outside, where Masson allegedly retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and shot two men.

The victims — a 53-year-old man from Dittmer and a 30-year-old man from Fletcher, Missouri — were transported to area hospitals for treatment. As of the most recent update from authorities, both men were reported to be in critical but stable condition.

Masson was taken into custody at the scene and later booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Officials confirmed he is currently being held without bond.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office credited witnesses who assisted investigators and acknowledged the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, led by Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski, for moving quickly to file charges in the case.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
