Golden, CO – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says there is no credible threat to Evergreen High School after investigating two separate reports of potential danger this week.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, one report was quickly determined to be a rumor. The second involved a student who, while coping with trauma from the September 10 school shooting, made social media posts that caused understandable concern among the community.

Deputies conducted a full investigation, including interviews with the student and their family, and reviewed all related online activity. Authorities confirmed there is no current threat to Evergreen High School or its students.

Officials acknowledged heightened community anxiety following recent school violence, noting that threats often rise after tragic incidents. “We take each one seriously and investigate them all,” the statement read.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that if any verified danger arises, parents and students will be informed immediately through official channels.

Community members are urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity directly to law enforcement.
