Pinson, AL – A deadly shooting that left one person dead and three others injured in Pinson earlier this month has led to multiple arrests, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 12:24 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, to the 7900 block of Highway 75 North after receiving reports of several people shot. Upon arrival, they found three victims — a 21-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, and an 18-year-old woman — suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders from Palmerdale, Center Point, and Trussville fire departments transported the victims to nearby hospitals. A fourth victim, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital by private vehicle.

According to investigators, the shooting followed a verbal and physical altercation that escalated into gunfire. The primary suspect, Steven Tyler Whitehead, 27, was initially charged with three counts of attempted murder and held on a total bond of $180,000. On October 22, a murder charge was added after one of the victims died, and Whitehead remains jailed without bond.

On October 30, deputies charged two additional suspects in connection with the altercation. Silas McCay, 21, and Hunter McCullouch, 19, were each charged with third-degree assault and later released on $6,000 bonds.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
