According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:10 a.m. to the Shell station at 3640 Avenue E in Fairfield after receiving reports of a person who had been shot.
When they arrived, deputies discovered a 36-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Fairfield Fire & Rescue personnel transported the victim to UAB Hospital for treatment. As of Saturday morning, the man’s condition was not immediately known.
