Birmingham, AL – A man was arrested Friday after a reported AT&T cable theft triggered a search and traffic stop in Jefferson County.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were notified around 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, of a possible cable theft in the 1400 block of Warrior Jasper Road.
Authorities said a detective in the area observed a male suspect in a gold Chevrolet Impala near a downed հատված of AT&T cable along the roadside. Due to prior cable theft incidents in the area, the detective attempted to investigate, but the suspect allegedly fled.
A search of the area was conducted, and the vehicle was later located traveling eastbound on U.S. 78. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody without incident.
Investigators identified the suspect as 26-year-old Eric Millwood. Deputies said an electric cutting tool and other burglary tools were recovered during the arrest.
Millwood allegedly faces charges including first-degree theft of property, criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools. His total bond was set at $11,000, and officials confirmed he has since been released.
