Jefferson County, AL – An 81-year-old man was arrested after Jefferson County Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant in the Graysville area, uncovering drugs and weapons, officials announced Wednesday.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the search took place November 19, 2025, in the 500 block of Windsor Drive NE with assistance from the Fultondale Patrol Division. Deputies arrested Marvin Pope, 81, who has been charged with multiple narcotics and firearm-related offenses.

Authorities said Pope faces charges of being a felon in possession of a pistol, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $61,000 bond.

Detectives reported seizing 23.9 grams of methamphetamine, 0.3 grams of fentanyl, and 26 Xanax pills. They also recovered a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun, a Ruger .38-caliber semi-automatic handgun, and a Taurus .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun. Additional items confiscated included packaging materials, a cell phone, and a glass pipe.
