Rensselaer, IN – State Road 114 will be closed in Jasper County starting Friday, August 23, for a significant resurfacing project. The closure will affect the stretch between Curtis Creek Bridge, located west of County Road 1080 W, and Bigg’s Drive. According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), this section of the road will remain closed through mid-October.
The resurfacing project follows the reopening of State Road 114 between State Road 55 and Curtis Creek, as INDOT aims to enhance the roadway’s condition. During the closure, local access will still be permitted; however, through traffic is advised to seek alternative routes. Official detours will direct drivers to State Roads 55, 14, and Interstate 65.
In mid-October, INDOT plans to initiate alternating lane closures along State Road 114 from Bigg’s Drive to I-65 as the project advances. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and expect delays during this period. The resurfacing work is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and infrastructure across the region. Travelers should monitor updates from INDOT for any changes to the schedule.
