Carthage, MO – The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office conducted a county-wide Sex Offender Compliance Detail on October 31, 2025, to ensure all registered offenders were following state laws during Halloween.

According to Sheriff Randee Kaiser, the annual effort aimed to verify that all registered sex offenders within Jasper County were in full compliance with Missouri State Statutes and registration requirements.

During the sweep, 171 registered sex offenders were checked. Of those, 130 were in full compliance, while eight were found to be non-compliant and are now under investigation for potential registration violations.

An additional 40 registered offenders living within Joplin city limits were handled by the Joplin Police Department for verification. Six of those were identified as non-compliant and are also under investigation.

The operation was conducted in coordination with both the Joplin Police Department and the Carthage Police Department, with no major incidents reported during the detail.

Sheriff Kaiser said the joint effort underscores local law enforcement’s ongoing commitment to public safety during high-traffic events like Halloween.

“These compliance checks ensure accountability and help protect our communities during times when children and families are out in public,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.

This operation reflects continued collaboration among area law enforcement agencies to maintain offender compliance and community safety during holidays and public events.
