Jasper County, GA – The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is advising drivers to expect heavy traffic and road closures throughout Monticello today as the annual Deer Festival takes place.
Officials say delays are likely within city limits until around 6 p.m. Saturday, with deputies patrolling throughout the day to help manage congestion and ensure public safety. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and remain patient with detours and temporary closures.
The Deer Festival is one of Jasper County’s longest-running traditions, drawing visitors from across Georgia to celebrate local heritage with food, crafts, and family-friendly entertainment.
Motorists traveling through Monticello or nearby routes are encouraged to use alternate roads when possible. Residents attending the event are reminded to follow posted traffic signs and directions from deputies on site.
