Jasper County Commuters Brace for U.S. 231 Closure Starting July 8

Jasper County, IN – U.S. 231 will experience significant closures starting next week due to two major bridge projects. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced that the highway will close between County Road 1700 N and 8th Ave starting Monday, July 8, with closures expected to last until mid-October.

According to INDOT, the first project involves a bridge deck overlay preventative maintenance at Tyler Ditch, located between 15th Ave/County Road 1400 N and 8th Ave. This section of U.S. 231 will be closed starting on or around July 8. Following this, U.S. 231 will close between County Road 1700 N and County Road 1600 N for a bridge replacement at James Krucek Ditch, beginning on or around July 15.
