Jackson, MS – The National Weather Service in Jackson says temperatures dipped into the upper 30s early Friday morning, creating the potential for patchy frost across parts of north-central Mississippi.
A Limited (Level 1) frost advisory is in effect through daybreak, with the greatest impacts expected near Grenada, Eupora, Philadelphia, and Columbus. Residents are advised to cover sensitive vegetation and protect outdoor plants from minor frost damage.
The rest of the day will bring sunny skies and highs between 63°F and 70°F, with dry and seasonably cool conditions continuing into Saturday.
Morning lows will range from 37°F to 42°F Friday, warming slightly by Saturday morning to the low 40s. Highs are expected to reach near 70°F Saturday afternoon before a weak system brings light rain chances (around 20%) to northern areas early Sunday.
Forecasters say any showers will be isolated and short-lived, mainly north of Highway 82. The rest of the region should stay dry and mild.
Overall, it’s shaping up to be a cool and comfortable first weekend of November for central and northern Mississippi.
