Jackson, KY – After a brief break in the rain this weekend, eastern Kentucky is in for another active weather stretch early this week.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, drier weather will continue through Sunday and most of Monday before rain chances rise sharply Monday night. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected from late Monday through Wednesday, with a few thunderstorms possible on Tuesday.
Forecasters say patchy fog could develop Sunday night, creating reduced visibility for early morning drivers. Temperatures will rise into the 60s early in the week before a cold front moves through Wednesday, bringing a return to cooler and drier weather for Thanksgiving.
Residents planning to travel for the holiday should monitor forecasts closely as changing conditions could affect early-week road travel.
