Jackson, Kentucky – Dry conditions and warming temperatures will continue across eastern Kentucky through Friday before rain chances return this weekend, potentially affecting travel along KY-15 and U.S. 23.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, high pressure building into the region will keep skies partly sunny to mostly clear through the end of the workweek. High temperatures today are expected to reach between 41 and 49 degrees, followed by upper 40s to low 50s Thursday and mid-50s by Friday.

Cloud cover will gradually increase Thursday, but dry conditions are expected to persist until late Saturday. Highs Saturday are forecast to range from 52 to 57 degrees before showers develop later in the day and into Saturday night.

Rain is considered likely Sunday, with highs between 49 and 56 degrees. While no severe weather is currently expected, wet roadways could impact weekend travel across eastern Kentucky, including corridors such as the Hal Rogers Parkway and KY-15.

Conditions are expected to dry out again early next week, with temperatures rebounding into the upper 50s and low 60s by Monday and Tuesday. Highs Tuesday may reach between 60 and 67 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

Students and commuters should expect mild afternoons through Friday, with the next potential travel disruptions arriving over the weekend.

The National Weather Service advises residents to monitor forecast updates as the weekend system approaches and rainfall timing becomes more defined.
