Jackson, KY Weather Alert: 54-59° Rain KY-15 Saturday Night

Jackson, Kentucky – Dry and cooler weather will hold through Friday before soaking rain arrives this weekend.

According to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, high pressure building into eastern Kentucky tonight will bring mostly clear skies and lows between 20 and 27 degrees. Dry conditions are expected to continue through the remainder of the workweek.

Thursday will feature increasing clouds with highs ranging from 40 to 48 degrees. Sunshine returns Friday, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the 47 to 54 degree range across the region.

Rain chances increase Saturday as a low pressure system passes south of Kentucky. Highs Saturday are forecast between 54 and 59 degrees, with showers developing later in the day. Rain is likely Sunday, with highs between 48 and 56 degrees.

Drivers along Interstate 75, KY-15, US-23 and US-27 should prepare for wet pavement and reduced visibility this weekend, particularly Saturday night into Sunday when rainfall coverage increases. No wintry precipitation is expected at this time.

Conditions dry out again early next week. Washington’s Birthday is expected to be mostly sunny with highs between 55 and 60 degrees, followed by partly cloudy skies Tuesday and temperatures rising into the 61 to 67 degree range.

The weekend rain timing may be especially relevant for students, young workers and travelers planning activities across eastern Kentucky.
