Jackson, MS – A stretch of mild days and cool nights will continue across Mississippi this week, with two rounds of rain expected Tuesday and again over the weekend, according to the US National Weather Service Jackson.
Forecasters say overnight lows in the 40s will mark some of the coolest conditions of the season so far, offering a noticeable fall feel across the region. Highs will reach the mid- to upper 70s most afternoons through Thursday before cooling slightly late week.
Scattered showers are possible Tuesday, especially across central and southern Mississippi, with rain chances ranging from 20% to 40%. Most of the week will remain dry, but another system will bring widespread rain by Saturday, when chances increase to 50–60% for areas including Vicksburg, Jackson, and Hattiesburg.
Despite the cool mornings, no frost or freeze concerns are expected. Residents can look forward to comfortable afternoons with light breezes and partly sunny skies between rain systems.
