Jackson County, WI – A Black River Falls man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after allegedly leading Jackson County deputies on a high-speed chase along Interstate 94.

According to Cpt. Evan Mazur with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received an automated license plate reader alert at about 3:17 p.m. on October 22 for a vehicle linked to Steven Krahn, 49, who had an active felony warrant in Jackson County.

Deputies located the vehicle in the Town of Brockway and attempted a traffic stop. Authorities say Krahn allegedly refused to pull over, speeding onto I-94. Deputies performed a PIT maneuver, successfully stopping the vehicle before Krahn surrendered.

Krahn was booked into the Jackson County Jail on multiple charges, including Fleeing an Officer, Recklessly Endangering Safety, Threats to Law Enforcement, Obstructing an Officer, and Bail Jumping.

No injuries were reported in the pursuit.

Authorities emphasized that all parties retain a presumption of innocence until proven guilty in court.
