Jackson County, FL – Seven individuals were arrested this week following a multi-agency undercover operation targeting online child predators, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

From September 4–6, undercover investigators posed as juveniles in online forums to identify and apprehend individuals attempting to exploit minors. Authorities said those arrested allegedly used digital platforms to solicit minors and traveled to meet them for unlawful sexual conduct.

According to JCSO, the investigation was led locally but included cooperation from federal, state, and regional partners such as the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshals Service, and several nearby sheriff’s offices and police departments.

Sheriff Donald L. Edenfield emphasized the importance of the proactive operation, stating that “those who prey on them—whether from behind a screen or in person—will find no safe place in Jackson County.”

The individuals arrested face multiple charges, including use of a computer or device to solicit a minor, traveling to meet a minor for unlawful sexual activities, and unlawful use of a communication device. One suspect, Luis Bautista, also faces an additional charge of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

Officials said the operation highlights the ongoing efforts to protect children across Jackson County and surrounding areas.
