DAVENPORT, Iowa – Residents across the Quad Cities will enjoy cool, fall-like air through midweek before a chance for storms develops Wednesday night. Overnight lows are dipping into the upper 40s, leaving mornings brisk for late August.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, daytime highs will slowly rise from the low 70s Monday into the upper 70s by Thursday. Skies remain mostly sunny through Tuesday, but a weak disturbance could bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to northern parts of the region Wednesday night.
Travelers along I-80 and I-74 should be alert to reduced visibility and wet roads if storms develop, particularly north of the metro. While severe weather is not expected, forecasters caution that lightning and brief downpours could cause delays.
Residents should plan for jacket-worthy mornings, especially in rural counties like Rock Island, Henry, and Clinton, where lows may dip near 46 degrees. Outdoor evening events will be comfortable but cool, with clear skies dominating most nights.
The warming trend continues into the weekend, with highs climbing back closer to normal in the low 80s. Additional storm chances could return late week.
