Green Bay, Wis. – Drivers across northeast Wisconsin should be prepared for dense fog late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with visibility dropping to a quarter-mile or less in some areas. Scattered showers and a few isolated thunderstorms are also possible today.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the next significant chance of storms arrives Friday evening and continues into Saturday morning. Forecasters warn that locally heavy rainfall and lightning could slow travel on Highways 29 and 41, especially around Appleton, Oshkosh, and Green Bay.
After a stretch of cooler-than-average days, temperatures will rebound sharply beginning Friday, with highs climbing into the low 80s through the weekend. The warmer air, paired with higher humidity, could fuel stronger thunderstorms Friday night.
Residents are urged to use caution on the roads during foggy periods, allow extra travel time, and avoid flooded intersections if downpours develop. Outdoor plans late Friday and early Saturday may need adjustments as storm chances peak.
Conditions should improve by Sunday with partly sunny skies and seasonably warm weather. Additional advisories may be issued if Friday night’s storms intensify.
