Iroquois County, IL — A unique opportunity for aspiring nonprofit leaders is coming to Watseka this January. The Nonprofit Board Bootcamp will take place on Thursday, January 9, at the KCC Miner South Extension Center. The full-day training begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m.

According to organizers, the United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties and the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley developed the event. They aim to prepare participants with skills to serve effectively on nonprofit boards. Topics include financial management, fundraising strategies, and leadership techniques.

Participants will network with current nonprofit board members and community leaders. They’ll also learn actionable steps to enhance their impact on local organizations. Lunch is included in the $50 registration fee.

The training is part of an effort to strengthen leadership in Iroquois County. “This bootcamp helped me feel confident as a new board member,” said a past participant.

Registration is open at bit.ly/bbIROQUOIS2025.
