Des Moines, IA – Iowa residents can look forward to a break from the chill as warming temperatures and sunny skies arrive this weekend. Breezy conditions will continue Saturday, with highs reaching the mid-30s. By Monday, temperatures could climb to 45°F, offering a respite from recent cold spells.

According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines, today’s high will near 34°F with wind chill values as low as -5°F. Breezy winds from the south may reach speeds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Overnight, temperatures will dip to 22°F, with mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday will bring mostly sunny conditions and highs near 36°F. Winds from the northwest could reach 23 mph, keeping the day brisk but dry. Saturday night will see lows near 14°F.

Looking ahead, Sunday offers highs near 33°F and mostly sunny skies, followed by clear conditions overnight. A significant warm-up begins Monday, with highs nearing 45°F. Sunny skies and lighter winds will dominate the forecast through midweek, making it an excellent time to plan outdoor activities or travel along I-235.
