Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service is forecasting rain showers throughout Friday, with conditions gradually clearing on Saturday, followed by sunshine on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to be near or below normal for this time of year, with highs in the 50s on Friday and Sunday, and slightly cooler temperatures in the 40s to low 50s on Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to develop late Friday, continuing into Saturday morning. The highest chances for rain will occur over southern and southeastern Iowa, especially in the central and southeast regions, with 50-80% coverage expected. The northwest part of the state will have a lower chance at 40%. By Saturday afternoon, conditions will begin to clear, and sunny skies will return by Sunday.

Overnight lows will dip into the 30s on Friday and Saturday nights, with temperatures in the 20s on Saturday morning. The coolest day will be Saturday, with highs ranging from 44-51°F, while Sunday will warm up slightly to a high of 53-58°F.
