Quad Cities, IA/IL – Showers and thunderstorms are expected to return to the Quad Cities region on Friday, bringing with them a potential threat of severe weather and flash flooding.

According to the US National Weather Service Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois, the weather is forecast to be dry and pleasant on Thursday. However, conditions will change significantly on Friday, with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall likely to occur. Some of these storms may reach severe levels, prompting concerns over flash flooding in low-lying areas.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. The forecast highlights the possibility of torrential rainfall, which could quickly lead to dangerous flooding conditions. Authorities recommend avoiding travel in areas prone to flooding and being prepared for potential emergency situations.

The threat of severe weather is expected to diminish by Saturday, with a drying trend and more sunshine anticipated over the weekend. The high for Saturday is predicted to be between 81 and 86 degrees, with sunny conditions continuing into Sunday.
