Quad Cities, IA/IL – A cold front has descended on the Quad Cities region, bringing below-normal temperatures and potentially freezing conditions that will persist through Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect temperatures ranging from 25°F to 31°F tonight, with a wind chill making it feel even colder.
Windy conditions, peaking today and Monday, will make it feel colder than the actual temperatures. The cold snap is expected to continue through Sunday night, with lows dipping between 27°F and 35°F. By Monday, the region will experience even colder air, with temperatures ranging from 20°F to 26°F, potentially affecting outdoor activities.
The National Weather Service also mentioned that the cold front could bring isolated sprinkles or flurries, particularly on Monday. Daytime temperatures will remain below normal, with highs only reaching the mid-40s to mid-50s.
Residents are advised to take precautions against frost and freezing temperatures, especially at night. Winter jackets and layered clothing are recommended for anyone venturing outdoors.
