OMAHA, NE – Spring weather in Iowa and Nebraska will bring strong winds, temperature swings, and an elevated fire danger through early next week. The National Weather Service warns that parts of northeast Nebraska, which recently received precipitation, could see very high fire danger Sunday due to gusty northwest winds exceeding 40 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, winds will increase Saturday night into Sunday, with speeds reaching 21 mph and gusts over 34 mph by Sunday afternoon. Areas with snowmelt could refreeze overnight, creating slick roads early Friday morning. Dry conditions will make fire risk a concern, especially in northeast Nebraska.
