Moline, Illinois – Scattered storms could dampen Thursday and Friday plans across the Illinois-Iowa border, but clearer skies are expected by the time Father’s Day weekend rolls in.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely through Friday evening, with rain chances peaking at 50% during the day. Overnight chances taper down to 10–30%, and by Saturday, only isolated showers are expected. Temperatures will remain warm and muggy, ranging from the low 80s during the day to the mid-60s at night.

Storm activity will be hit or miss, and some cities—including Bettendorf, Rock Island, and Clinton—may see little to no measurable rainfall. Severe weather is not anticipated, but brief downpours or lightning could still disrupt outdoor plans. Interstate 80 and Highway 61 may see wet pavement and reduced visibility at times.

Residents heading outdoors this weekend are advised to stay weather-aware, especially on Friday. Pack light rain gear if you’re attending early Father’s Day events or Friday night games.

Rain chances drop significantly by Saturday night, and Sunday looks drier and seasonable, with highs near 85°—ideal for backyard cookouts or park visits.
