Quad Cities, IL – Residents can enjoy unseasonably warm weather today and Sunday, but colder temperatures will return early next week. Highs will approach 50 degrees this weekend, offering a pleasant reprieve from December’s typical chill.

According to the National Weather Service, today will see mostly sunny skies with highs near 49 degrees, while Sunday will reach a balmy 52. Breezy conditions, with gusts up to 25 mph, will accompany Sunday’s warmth, creating a brisk feel outdoors.

Monday brings another mild day, with temperatures hovering near 50 degrees, but changes loom as a cold front arrives Tuesday. Highs will only reach 33 degrees, with lows plunging to around 20. By Wednesday, daytime highs will struggle to climb above 26 degrees, signaling the return of winter’s grip.

Looking ahead, forecasters suggest snow chances may develop late next week, particularly Thursday evening into Friday. While details remain uncertain, early indications suggest light accumulations could impact morning commutes.

Residents are advised to prepare for colder conditions by Tuesday and monitor updates on snow potential later in the week. Take advantage of the warmer weekend weather for outdoor activities but bundle up as temperatures drop significantly midweek.
