Quad Cities, IA/IL – Residents across eastern Iowa and western Illinois can expect another round of showers and thunderstorms late this evening and overnight, according to the National Weather Service Quad Cities. The best chances for rainfall are predicted along and east of the Mississippi River.
According to forecasters, no severe weather is anticipated with this system, though brief downpours and isolated lightning are possible. Temperatures tonight will drop into the mid-40s, with scattered rain continuing through early Sunday morning.
A cold front moving through the region will bring a noticeable shift in temperatures by Sunday, ushering in more fall-like conditions. Daytime highs will only reach the low 60s, paired with gusty northwest winds that could make it feel even cooler.
Looking ahead, Monday is expected to be milder with highs in the upper 60s before another cool-down on Tuesday. The National Weather Service advises residents to keep an eye on local forecasts and use caution if traveling overnight due to wet roads.
