Davenport, IA – After several chilly days, the Quad Cities region is set to experience a dramatic warm-up this week — with near-record warmth possible by Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities.
Forecasters say temperatures will climb steadily through the week, starting with highs in the mid-40s to low 50s Tuesday, reaching the upper 50s to low 60s by Thursday, and peaking near 68°F to 75°F on Saturday. Breezy south winds will accompany the warm surge, helping push temperatures well above seasonal averages.
“Dry conditions will dominate the week,” the NWS said early Tuesday, adding that Saturday’s warmth may challenge long-standing records before a cold front moves through late in the weekend, bringing temperatures back to near-normal levels next week.
Lows through midweek will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s, moderating into the 40s by Friday night as the warm air mass settles in. Sunshine and light clouds are expected to persist through Thursday before winds pick up heading into Saturday.
Residents planning outdoor activities or Veterans Day events can expect comfortable, dry weather for most of the week, with the warmest stretch arriving just before a likely cool-down Sunday into Monday.
