Davenport, IA – Residents across the Quad Cities region can expect a stretch of warm and sunny conditions to close out September, according to the National Weather Service. High temperatures will remain in the 80s through at least Tuesday, offering an unseasonably warm end to the month.
According to the US National Weather Service Quad Cities office, high pressure stalled over the region will keep skies mostly clear and conditions dry. Sunday’s highs are forecast between 82 and 88 degrees, with overnight lows dropping into the mid to upper 50s.
On Monday, temperatures could reach as high as 90 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Tuesday is expected to bring slightly cooler conditions, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows near 60, along with partly sunny skies.
The dry stretch follows an active start to fall earlier in September, when scattered storms and cooler days moved through eastern Iowa and western Illinois. Forecasters note the upcoming pattern offers several days of favorable outdoor conditions, but remind residents that elevated afternoon warmth may feel closer to midsummer than early fall.
This warm spell will carry the region into October, though forecasters will monitor any upcoming shifts in weather patterns later in the week.
