Davenport, IA – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday across eastern Iowa, western Illinois, and northeast Missouri, as heavy snow and gusty winds continue to create hazardous driving conditions across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches are expected, with localized amounts up to 7 inches in heavier bands. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce blowing snow and sharply reduced visibility overnight, especially along open stretches of highways and rural roads.

Communities under the warning include Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Davenport, Burlington, Rock Island, and Monmouth, where travel is expected to remain slow and dangerous through the early morning hours.

Motorists are urged to delay all unnecessary travel and keep an emergency kit — including food, water, blankets, and a flashlight — in their vehicles in case of delays or becoming stranded.

Residents can check up-to-date travel conditions at 511ia.org (Iowa), GettingAroundIllinois.com, or modot.org (Missouri).
