Moline, IL — Severe weather is forecast to impact communities along the Illinois-Iowa border on Wednesday, April 2, bringing damaging winds and hail risks. Residents in Davenport, Moline, and along the I-74 corridor should prepare for fast-moving storms beginning late Tuesday night and continuing through Wednesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, the primary threat on Wednesday includes thunderstorms capable of producing hail and damaging winds up to 50 mph. The greatest storm activity is expected between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. CDT. A Level 3 out of 5 “Enhanced” risk for severe weather has been issued for areas west of the Mississippi River, while eastern regions face a “Slight” risk.

Spotter activation may be needed late Tuesday night as storms begin moving northeast at 40–50 mph. Tornadoes are not the primary concern but cannot be completely ruled out.
