Investigators say the ORV was traveling eastbound when the driver attempted to avoid the downed tree. The maneuver failed, and the vehicle tipped onto its side, severely injuring the operator.
Emergency responders, including the Ionia Department of Public Safety, Life EMS, and the Ionia County Road Department, helped extricate the victim. He was transported to Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he remains in critical condition.
