Leroy Township, MI – A 48-year-old Owosso man was killed early Thursday morning, October 9, after his SUV collided head-on with a semi-truck on Grand River Avenue in Ingham County.
According to the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 6 a.m. to the crash site between Gramer Road and Wallace Road in Leroy Township. Preliminary reports indicate the SUV, traveling eastbound, crossed the center line and struck a westbound semi-truck driven by a 66-year-old man from Fowlerville.
Deputies said the Owosso man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. He died at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
Emergency crews from the Northeast Ingham Emergency Service Authority (NIESA), the Williamston Police Department, and the Ingham County Road Department assisted at the scene.
