Indianapolis, IN – A sharp blast of winter-like air will arrive late Sunday, bringing the coldest temperatures of the season so far to much of Indiana.
According to the US National Weather Service Indianapolis, lows will drop into the low 20s both Sunday and Monday nights, with wind chills ranging from 10°F to 15°F due to gusts up to 30 mph. Daytime highs Monday will struggle to reach the mid-30s, a full 25–30 degrees below normal for early November.
Forecasters say a few light snow flurries could develop Sunday night into Monday morning, especially north of Indianapolis, though no significant accumulation is expected. The bigger concern will be the combination of strong winds and frigid air, which could make travel and outdoor activities uncomfortable.
The cold snap follows a mild weekend, with Saturday’s highs near 60°F before the front passes. Officials urge residents to protect sensitive plants, pets, and outdoor plumbing, as multiple nights below freezing are expected statewide.
Temperatures are forecast to remain below average through Tuesday before gradually rebounding midweek.
