Indianapolis, IN – Following several frosty mornings, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis says Hoosiers can expect a noticeable warm-up this week, with highs reaching the upper 70s on Tuesday, October 14.
According to the US National Weather Service Indianapolis, temperatures will trend near to above normal for mid-October, with mild and seasonable conditions Wednesday and Thursday before another warm surge late in the week. Normal highs for this time of year range between 65 and 70 degrees.
The NWS 6–10 Day Temperature Outlook also shows a broader warm trend extending across much of the Midwest and Great Lakes region through late October, suggesting Indiana could stay on the mild side well into next weekend.
Meteorologists noted a brief midweek cool-down with highs dipping into the upper 60s before rebounding Friday and Saturday. Dry weather is expected to hold through Friday, though the NWS indicates showers may return by next weekend.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the stretch of mild weather for fall activities and outdoor projects before temperatures trend downward later this month.
