Indianapolis, Ind. – Scattered thunderstorms will move across central Indiana Saturday evening, bringing brief downpours and gusty winds before fading overnight. The National Weather Service warns that another round of isolated storms could return Sunday, paired with rising temperatures and sticky humidity.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, storm activity tonight may impact travel with reduced visibility and wet roads, especially along I-65 and I-70 corridors. Lows will remain in the lower to mid-70s, keeping conditions muggy overnight.

On Sunday, much of Indiana will see highs between 85 and 91 degrees, with humidity making it feel hotter. While storms are expected to be more scattered, the strongest cells could still produce lightning and brief heavy rain. Outdoor plans, especially in Marion, Hamilton, and Hendricks counties, should be monitored closely for changing conditions.

By Monday, the storm threat diminishes, but heat intensifies. Sunshine will return, driving highs into the low- to mid-90s with heat index values pushing near 100. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors without air conditioning.

Storm chances taper off Sunday night, but hot and humid air will dominate much of next week, with additional heat advisories possible.
