Indianapolis, Ind. – Drivers across central Indiana should expect reduced visibility early Friday as a dense fog advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. The National Weather Service warns fog could lower visibility to less than a quarter mile in spots, creating hazardous travel conditions for commuters.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, the advisory covers Marion County and surrounding areas, including Hendricks, Boone, Hamilton, and Johnson counties. The fog is most likely between 7 and 10 a.m., especially near rural roadways, river valleys, and low-lying areas. Officials urge motorists to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra travel time during the morning rush.

By late morning, skies will clear with highs reaching near 79 degrees Friday. Sunshine dominates the weekend with temperatures rising into the low to mid-80s through Sunday. Nights will remain clear and comfortable, with lows in the upper 50s to around 60.

The pleasant stretch continues into early next week, though humidity will gradually return. The next chance for unsettled weather does not arrive until midweek.

Drivers should expect lingering fog advisories in the coming mornings until drier air fully takes over.
