Indianapolis, IN – Light snow and freezing conditions are making for a slick start to the week across central Indiana, where a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Forecasters say snow began overnight and will continue into the early morning, especially along the I-70 corridor, with accumulations of 1–2 inches possible. Roads, bridges, and overpasses may be slippery during the Monday morning commute, and wind chills near 20°F will add to the chill.
The Special Weather Statement notes that heavier snow bands may briefly reduce visibility before tapering off by midmorning. By afternoon, skies will turn partly sunny with highs in the mid-30s, though another round of light flurries or sprinkles could return late Tuesday.
Officials urge motorists to slow down, allow extra travel time, and use caution on untreated surfaces. Pedestrians should also watch for icy sidewalks and steps.
Conditions will gradually clear Tuesday night, followed by sunshine and milder highs near 55°F by midweek.
