Indianapolis, Indiana – Humidity and storm chances will stick around through Friday across Indiana, as a summer pattern brings highs in the mid to upper 80s and scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, isolated showers and storms will be possible each day through at least Friday, June 21, with the highest rain chances midweek. Temperatures will climb from the low 80s Sunday into the upper 80s by Tuesday and Friday, with overnight lows remaining muggy in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Cities like Bloomington, Muncie, and Terre Haute can expect periods of sunshine followed by fast-moving storms—especially on Wednesday, when widespread showers could develop during the evening commute. While severe weather is not currently expected, heavy downpours and lightning may cause brief delays on I-70 and local roadways.
Residents are advised to stay weather-aware, hydrate frequently, and prepare for quick shifts between sun and storms. Outdoor plans may need to be adjusted each afternoon.
This humid, stormy pattern could break over the weekend, but daily updates will be issued as conditions evolve.
