Indianapolis, IN – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is leveraging advanced camera technology and sophisticated data analysis to enhance public safety and security. IMPD, in collaboration with the Indy Public Safety Foundation (IPSF), has integrated 90 b-link business partners with approximately 375 cameras citywide. In Downtown alone, 29 business partners have contributed 222 cameras to the effort.

According to IMPD, the department also utilizes approximately 14 mobile trailer cameras strategically deployed across the city. These mobile units provide flexibility and adaptability, allowing the department to respond to emerging crime trends as identified by community members, analysts, and officers. These cameras are completely wireless and can stream video in real-time back to the Real Time Crime Center.

These surveillance tools are part of IMPD’s proactive crime prevention strategy, offering real-time monitoring to alert officers and analysts to potential incidents, thereby enabling a swift and effective response.
