Indianapolis, Indiana – Showers and a possible thunderstorm could disrupt Tuesday plans in Indianapolis as Central Indiana faces a 60% chance of rain and gusty winds by afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely to develop after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the heaviest activity possible during the evening commute. East winds may gust up to 18 mph, and rainfall amounts could reach one-tenth of an inch, with higher totals possible in isolated thunderstorms.
Cities along the I-70 corridor—including Indianapolis, Plainfield, and Greenfield—should prepare for wet pavement and slower travel through Tuesday night. Temperatures will climb to the upper 60s before cooling into the upper 50s overnight. No severe storms are expected, but motorists should remain alert to changing road conditions, especially in construction zones.
Wednesday brings a brief break, with partly cloudy skies and calmer winds. But by Thursday, another round of light rain could return in the afternoon, with continued chances Thursday night into Friday.
